Jonata El Alma de Jonata 2018 puts Cabernet Franc at the centre of an estate-grown Ballard Canyon red. The vintage benefited from a long growing season with largely favourable conditions, and Antonio Galloni identifies Jonata’s 2018 releases as a particularly strong collection.
Awarding this wine 96 points, Galloni of Vinous writes: “Sweet floral notes, cedar, mocha, grilled herbs, licorice and sweet pipe tobacco give the 2018 striking aromatic intensity and depth that builds with air.” The palate remains bright and focused, with a structured finish.
